How to Hide Folder in Windows 7/XP/Vista

Method 1
  1. Right click on the folder you want to hide and select the rename option.
  2. Remove  the name of the folder . Type 255 in the numeric keypad on the keyboard while holding the alt key.
  3. press the Enter key and you can see a folder with no name.
  4. To hide the folder right click on  it  and then select properties.
  5. choose the customize tab  and select the change icon button.
  6. A window consists of a lot of icons is  displayed .Browse through them and you can see a blank space between the icons .Select it and then click ok.Now the folder is hidden.
Most people are not familiar to this method.The main advantage of this method is people can’t find your data from  a search within your   computer.The disadvantage of  this method is that when you refresh the screen we can saw the hidden folder which means we only  change the icon and name  of a folder.but this method is useful for hiding your data.

Method 2
The method1 is   a temporary  one.The most common method to hide a folder is
  1. select the tools option from windows explorer menu item(sometimes the menu is hidden .To display the menu press the alt tab).
  2. select the folder options and click the view tab .Under hidden files and folders choose "Don’t show hidden files , folders or drives"  and click OK(In windows xp it is "Don’t show hidden files an folders").
  3. Right click on the folder.select properties under the general tab select attributes there is a check box for hidden.click a tick mark on it then select OK.Now the folder is hidden.
This method is most popular for hiding data in computers.if we use both methods to hide a folder it will prohibit the visibility of data to some extent .Only the creator  of the folder will know it’s location.
